The Developing Business-Aware Academics project provides opportunities and provision to support doctoral and early-career researchers to engage effectively beyond academia. The session will include an introductory presentation from the DBAA team, followed by small focus group discussions about your experiences as a PGR or ECR. Come along to network with other researchers, enjoy some afternoon tea and explore questions like:

  • What is a business-aware academic?
  • What barriers do researchers face when collaborating with those beyond academia?
  • What are the enablers and motivators for researchers to work across sectors?

Data Collection

Please note that the focus group discussions will be audio-recorded, as part of the DBAA project’s data collection. Consent forms and information sheets will be available at the start of the session. If you have any questions about this which you would like to discuss prior to the session, please contact the researcher, Kate Ellis, at k.ellis2@exeter.ac.uk.
