Developing Business-Aware Academics event in York

In collaboration with University of York School for Business and Society, the Developing Business-Aware Academics project is hosting an event at the Hospitium in York on the 11th of December from 10:00-13:45.

Interested in finding out more about the DBAA project, its aims and next steps? Staff at the University of York, N8 and regional universities and industry partners are invited to come along to find out more about the project, hear from a range of speakers and network with colleagues over lunch.

The Developing Business-Aware Academics project aims to provide opportunities and provision to support doctoral and early-career researchers to engage effectively beyond academia. We are inviting partners from academia and industry to come together in York to better understand the benefits of collaboration and how to get involved in the project.


We are excited to welcome two expert panels from the University of York and the wider community. Confirmed speakers include:

Please note that there is not parking available onsite. The nearest parking is available at the paid Marygate Car Park, YO30 7DT which is a 5 minute walk from the venue. 

Nearest station

The Hospitium is a 10-15 minute walk from York train station, and a 5 minute walk from the nearest bus stop on Museum Street. 

Accessibility 

The Hospitium is wheelchair accessible via a ramp, and there is a lift in the building. Please note that the nearest accessible parking is the blue badge parking spaces at the Marygate Car Park, from which you can reach the Hospitium via a wide and flat pathway. Cars are permitted to drop off and pick up outside the venue by arrangement; please contact us at DBAA@exeter.ac.uk to arrange. 

Reception and Registration 

The Hospitium reception is manned, and a member of staff will be able to direct you to where the event is taking place upon arrival. The registration desk will be located inside event space, where a member of the team will register you when you arrive.

Please be aware that this event will be photographed and that these photos may be used in a variety of media. Unless you tell us otherwise, we will presume you are happy to be photographed/filmed as part of the event. If you wish to be excluded from this, please contact DBAA@exeter.ac.uk and inform the photographer or a member of the event team on the day.
