The challenge: Exploring the future of digital health identity

While the NHS Number is a strong and universal identifier, it does not currently function as a full healthcare identity system. As healthcare becomes increasingly digital – through shared care records, use of the NHS App, AI-enabled services and remote care – there is a growing need for a federated healthcare identity framework that builds on the NHS Number.

What to expect

This visit offers a behind-the-scenes look at Mastek’s offices and working environment alongside structured opportunities for engagement, informal networking and lunch.

This event is for academic researchers at all career stages, and PhD students, from anywhere in the UK – no prior industry or networking experience required.

Where there is strong alignment, Mastek may be able to provide support for collaboration.

Participation is free and travel costs to Reading will be covered in line with the University of Exeter expenses policy.

An online workshop on bridging research and industry cultures will be offered to all researchers prior to the event.  This will develop skills in identifying areas for collaboration, crafting compelling narratives with clarity and will start to build a toolkit towards transforming research into action with non-academic partners.

This event is being piloted as part of the DBAA research project. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to read the participant information sheet, sign a research consent form, and complete evaluation questionnaires before and after the sessions.

Mastek combines technology, domain expertise and delivery experience to help healthcare and life sciences organisations modernise services, improve patient outcomes, and transform operations.
